Replacing the Wet Belt on the Ford 2.0 Transit EcoBlue
We are specialists in the replacement of the wet belts on the Ford Transit 2.0 EcoBlue Engines.
The Ford Transit 2.0 EcoBlue engines use a Wet Belt instead of the traditional Timing Belt.
The design and of the engines timing system involve what is known as a "wet belt." The belt runs in engine oil and connects the engine’s camshafts to the crankshaft via an idler gear, which also connects the high-pressure fuel pump to the crankshaft.
Ford originally recommend these wet belts to be are replaced every 10 years or 150,000 miles however on some vehicles due to lack of servicing, poor maintenance or incorrect oils used we are seeing many of these belts failing prior to the suggested replacement interval so we suggest a replacement very much sooner than this time frame. We have seen engines fail as low as 40, 000 miles due to wet belt failure.
